YOU ASK

WE ANSWER

I want to learn a language but I was never a good student at school.

Well the fact that you are keen to learn a language is a step in the right direction. The priority is the right instruction. I can tell you that our method has been developed for students such as yourselves because we understand that you are going to start a journey that we don’t want you to give up on. Your level of motivation is maintained throughout the course to keep you enthusiastic.

Our method is designed to take you on short trips so that you can get used to something you may have thought you were not good at, and soon you will find that it is something you have previously succeeded in. You have already been through this process many years ago when you learned your mother tongue and this time it is no different. You brain is pre-programmed to take on a language and all you have to do is to reactivate this inherent talent. The Language Logic method simply defines what your original process was and provides you with the map to do this. This we call Language Mapping. With Language Mapping you will follow the shortest route to successfully learn a language.

How long will it take me to learn a language?

Good question. I will answer this question for people of all levels of education. Knowing the distance between your departure and destination helps you make the appropriate plans. There are several questions you should ask yourself before we can answer this question, for example:

Why do you want to learn a language? Necessity
What language do you want to learn? E.g. There is a big difference between learning, say, French and Chinese (Mandarin)

Our 1st Level of Fluency course will take you around 30 days and each followup level there after should take 3 weeks each. In short, you could be speaking reading, writing and understanding in 30 days of lessons.

How much time can you allocate to learn a language?
What is the extent of your previous exposure to education? What previous learning experiences have you had?

Assuming these questions are answered; the general response according to the Language Logic Method for the languages we have to offer, and according to the 3 levels of fluency, we suggest the following time frames:
3 – 4 weeks up to the 1st LEVEL OF FLUENCY (comparable to A1, A2 of the European Framework), and
3 – 8 weeks up to the 2nd LEVEL OF FLUENCY (comparable to B1, B2 of the European Framework )

3 – 10+ weeks up to the 3rd LEVEL OF FLUENCY (comparable to C1of the European Framework)

Keeping in mind that after completing the 1st LEVEL OF FLUENCY you will be able to communicate by speaking, reading and writing.

Do I need to know the grammar rules?

People who have not had the benefit of a good education probably know zero about the grammar of their own language yet they are able to speak their own language very well. So, my answer has to be no. You will find that learning with the Language Logic method, grammar plays a very small part, or none at all in the language acquisition process. Obviously grammar exits throughout the learning process because that is how a language is constructed though you don’t need to focus on learning grammar to learn to speak, read and write. I don’t mind repeating that the Language Logic method makes no assumptions of what you already know. We provide everything.

Why do I have a problem recalling information?

Remember that this is new and totally unfamiliar information you are trying to remember. In order for the brain to be convinced that this information is worthwhile retaining, you will have to repeat this information several times over and use it in a purposeful way. Also, you cannot learn faster by studying more information; your brain can only process enough at a time! The Language Logic method addresses both these factors. With LANGUAGE LOGIC the information you are required to learn is spread throughout the course ensuring that you repeat the information adequately such that retention integrity is maintained.

Extra things you can do to help recall:

Use mnemonics to remember words you would use every day.
List all the words that you use in your mother tongue in an average day and translate them.
List the standard conversations you use in your mother tongue every day. The probability is high that this is the vocabulary and phrasing you would primarily use in your new language.
Remembering useful information is by far easier than trying to remember information that you will only use some time in the future. You will also find that this usual information can be rearranged to construct new phrases.

What are the benefits of learning a foreign language?
An employer will see you as a bridge to new clients or customers if you know a foreign language. Students seeking careers in business, technology, social service or marketing will enhance their chances of success if they have studied and are able to communicate in a foreign language.

Why learn another language?
• Studying a second language can improve your skills and grades in math and English.
• More and more businesses work closely with companies in other countries.
• No matter what career you choose, if you have learned a second language, you will have a real advantage. A technician who knows Russian or German, the head of a company who knows Japanese or Spanish, or a salesperson who knows French or Chinese can work successfully with many more people and in many more places than someone who knows only one language.
• Knowing more than one language enhances opportunities in government, business, medicine and health care, law enforcement, teaching, technology, the military, communications, industry, social service, and marketing.
• Professionals who know other languages are called on to travel and exchange information with people in other countries throughout their careers.

Why do I need to learn another language?
In a nutshell, the world is shrinking. Citizens of emerging markets are taught English from an early age, and these bilingual people are vying for the same jobs as you. Also, on a more social level, it is a wonderful opportunity to travel and build friendships, discover new cultures and open up the mind. Finally, it’s a wonderful confidence booster that raises your self-esteem knowing that you have mastered what you once thought was impossible.

Is it difficult to learn to speak Chinese or Japanese?
If you go to these Asian nations, you will find many business people and foreign journalists that have mastered these foreign languages fluently. They do not have any special talents. It was their desire that propelled them to master the language.

Which is the best foreign language to learn to improve my business prospects?
If one looks at the world's 10 most influential languages, which are in order of most influential to last: English, French, Spanish Russian, Arabic, Chinese, German, Japanese, Portuguese and Hindi/Urdu, you are able to narrow your choice. Other factors that will influence your choice are what your present profession is and your reason for learning a language. When making your decision you should keep in mind that languages such as French, Spanish, Arabic and English are spoken more wide spread across the world.

Can I ever get rid of my foreign accent?
Yes, and many people ahead of you already have. It takes listening skills, practise and the right language learning course that teaches you the right way from day one.

"If you follow the Language Logic Method and understand what is required of a language learner, you WILL be Speaking - Reading and Writing in your target language within 4 weeks!
